This important document, which looks like it's from 1880, fascinates me: it was drawn up four years before the Berlin Conference and at the bottom of the page there are three signatures by literate Belgians and a cross by an illiterate Congolese man. I wonder what the agreement was? My AfricaMuseum is a place where history becomes tangible
